Newtown
Bustling with all things nature Newtown National Trust Nature Reserve is a peaceful sanctuary renowned for its birdlife including the recently reintroduced Sea Eagle. Formerly the capital of the Island and its major sea port it demise was caused by the gradual salting up of the harbour and constant visits from the French Army.
A great place to discover on foot. The Ancient Woodlands still boast many old Oak Trees and the natural habitat is home to many species of insects including lots of butterflies.
Winding through quiet country lanes, while not traffic free it is a lovely peaceful and stress free ride.
